Round Trip

Experience a broad cross-section of The Gambia in one day, from markets and schools to villages, the coast and Tanji.

Tour overview

The Gambia Round Trip is a full-day introduction to several different sides of the country, combining local landmarks, busy market life, community visits and the Atlantic coast in one itinerary. It is designed for travellers who want to see more than the resort area without committing to an overnight trip.

The day starts with the Crocodile Pool and museum before continuing to Serekunda Market, where the focus is on everyday trade and local life. From there, the route includes a local school and a wood-carving centre, giving the day a stronger community and cultural element rather than simply moving between sightseeing stops.

Later in the day the tour continues to Paradise Beach for lunch and time to relax, followed by a local village and Tanji fishing village. Tanji adds a different coastal perspective to the itinerary and rounds out a day that moves from Bakau and Serekunda to village life and the coast before returning to your hotel or apartment.

Current tour details: €55 per person, one full day, normally for 2–6 guests, with hotel or apartment pickup. Drinks in restaurants are not included, and Janeya notes that discounts may be possible for bookings of three or more people. Confirm your date and group size before making final plans.
